Inspired by the UN Global Compact, VM Tarm a/s has formulated a policy on ”Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR). The UN Global Compact is the largest initiative in the world as regards the social responsibility of companies.
In general, VM Tarm a/s seeks to be a safe and inspiring workplace. We strive to promote the health of our employees by offering health insurances, financial contributions to fitness, organisation of running and biking activities etc.
We have a deliberate senior policy for the purpose of retaining elderly employees.
At VM Tarm, we take responsibility for training craftsmen in our local area by always having apprentices equivalent to 10% of the workforce. During their apprenticeship, they follow a well-defined training programme which covers all departments. We provide training for e.g. welders, machine technicians and electricians.
It has always been important to VM Tarm a/s to retain and create jobs in Western Jutland. At VM Tarm, we welcome refugees as employees soon after their arrival in this country. We hope to help them to integrate into our community.
Environment and climate
VM Tarm a/s makes a huge effort in terms of waste and residue sorting and recycling (cardboard, plastics, metal scrap, used oil etc.). Furthermore, we try to reduce our energy consumption continually, e.g. by reusing 90% of the heat contained in the extraction air from the production buildings.
Every year, VM Tarm donates around 2% of pre-tax profits to carefully selected projects or causes which benefit the underprivileged in developing countries. The aid is shared equally between emergency aid and development aid. In this case primarily help with education. Read more about on-going donations under Current donations.
